Since 2004, Vueling has become the leading airline with its base and headquarters in Barcelona. With over 219 million passengers transported in Catalonia, it accounts for 60% of the company's total. In 2023, Vueling was the main commercial operator at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, with a 41% market share.
Vueling's economic impact on Catalonia is substantial: in 2023, the airline contributed €1.226 billion to the region's GDP and created over 9,500 jobs. Additionally, its presence has driven growth in the tourism and logistics sectors, solidifying Catalonia as a strategic hub for European air traffic.
With a strong presence in markets like Italy, France, and the United Kingdom, Vueling reaffirms its commitment to Catalonia's economy and the development of the aviation sector.
