Developed by five key industry associations representing aircraft manufacturers, airlines, airports, and air navigation service providers, the report outlines the actions needed to achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
 

Aviation has transformed European society, connecting cities, countries, and markets. However, this growth has led to increased public scrutiny regarding its environmental impact, particularly concerning carbon emissions. According to the report, while fuel efficiency improved by 2% annually between 2009 and 2019, further efforts are required to significantly reduce absolute emissions, even in a scenario of increasing air traffic.
 

Destination 2050 outlines specific measures, including operational efficiency improvements, the use of sustainable fuels, and technological innovation. The report highlights that this transition will benefit not only the environment but also future generations and the aviation sector as a key economic driver for Europe.
